Über/About

Ich heiße Patricia Koelle und schreibe  Romane und Geschichten. Auf diesem Blog gibt es Gedanken über das Leben, das Schreiben und die aufregende, erstaunliche Welt um uns herum.  Wortnest erscheint mir ein sinnvoller Name, denn in ein Nest kann man etwas legen und ausbrüten, und wer weiß, was dabei herauskommt. Mit Worten geht das auch. Zudem kann man sich in einem Nest wohlfühlen, und so möge es auch den Besuchern und Lesern gehen.

Mein Mann ist an Muskeldystrophie erkrankt und auf einen Rollstuhl und ein Beatmungsgerät angewiesen. Dies hat uns bewußt gemacht, wie wertvoll Zeit ist und dass nichts im Leben selbstverständlich ist, nicht einmal atmen, sitzen, reden oder essen. Dadurch ist jeder Tag zu einem Wunder geworden.Etwas von dem Glanz der alltäglichen  Wunder, die uns allen begegnen, vesuche ich, in meinen Geschichten einzufangen.

My name is Patricia Koelle. I was born in Huntsville, Alabama and later grew up in the free part of Berlin, Germany. Today I still live in Berlin with my husband. I write novels and short stories about people who could be real and consider life and our world as fascinating and amazing as I do.

My husband suffers from muscle dystrophy and needs a wheelchair and a respirator. Because of this, we have learned how precious time is and that nothing can be  taken for granted, not even breathing, talking, sitting or eating. Being aware of this turns every day into a wonder.

I hope to catch something of the sparkle and the wonder in my stories.

“Wordnest” seems an apropriate name for the blog because a nest is a place where something can grow and hatch. A good place for words, therefore. Also I would like readers to feel snug and welcome here, so what could be better for that than a nest?

I only shortly turned this into a bilingual blog, so older posts will be in german only. Sorry.
